Bensulfuron-methyl + Butachlor 30% WP

Pesticide Category: Herbicides Dosage form: Wettable Powder (WP) | Toxicity: lower toxicity
Active ingredients: Benzylsulfuron + Butachlor | Total active ingredient content: 30%

I. Product Profile

Ben·Ding 30% Wettable Powder is aBinary Formulation Herbicide Specifically Designed for Rice Fields, bySulfonylurea-based broadleaf sedge herbicide (benzothiadiazole)andAmide-based grass herbicide (butachlor)Scientifically formulated. This product combines the dual effects of ”contact and systemic” action, providing excellent control of annual grass weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedge weeds in rice fields. It is a classic product for the comprehensive management of weeds in transplanted rice fields, hand-transplanted rice fields, mechanically transplanted rice fields, and direct-seeded rice fields.

II. Mechanisms of action of active ingredients

Mechanism of dual-target synergy

forms

Ingredients Function Category mechanism of action Mechanism of action
Bensulfuron HRAC Class B / WSSA Class 2 Acetyl-L-lactate synthase (ALS) inhibitors, inhibiting the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids Systemic, absorbed by roots and leaves
butachlor HRAC Category K3 / WSSA Category 15 Protein Synthesis Inhibitors, interfering with the absorption by young shoots and secondary roots Pre-sprout soil treatment; absorption by young sprouts

The Principle of Synergy

  1. Broadleaf Cyperus Herbicide (Benzylsulfuron): The active ingredient rapidly disperses in water; after being absorbed by the roots and leaves of weeds, it is transported throughout the plant, inhibiting the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (such as isoleucine) and blocking cell division and growth, thereby stunting the weeds and causing them to die. It is highly effective against duckweed, water caltrop, water parsnip, and other weeds, as well as Cyperaceae weeds (such as water hairgrass, heteromorphic sedge, and water sedge).

  2. Grass Weed Control (Dichlorprop): It is primarily absorbed through the young shoots and secondary roots of weeds, inhibiting protein synthesis within the plants, causing the young weeds to become swollen and deformed with a deep green color, and ultimately leading to their death. It is highly effective against barnyard grass, common ragweed, heteromorphic sedge, rice sedge, and cowhage.

  3. Synergy: Benzosulfuron compensates for the poor efficacy of butachlor against broadleaf weeds and sedge weeds; Butachlor compensates for benzosulfuron’s limited effectiveness against barnyard grass and Echinochloa crus-galli, thereby achieving complete control of grass, broadleaf, and sedge weeds in rice fields.

III. Product characteristics

✅ Six Core Advantages

forms

Specificities particular
🎯 Completely eliminates He Kuosha; broad-spectrum and highly effective It provides excellent control of barnyard grass, duckweed, broadleaf weeds, and sedge weeds, covering the major weeds found in rice fields.
🔄 Enclosed and systemic—double protection It combines the dual effects of soil-applied and systemic action, providing control against both emerged and pre-emerged weeds.
⏱️ Long-lasting, one application lasts With a residual efficacy of 30–40 days, a single application is generally sufficient to control weeds throughout the entire rice growing season.
🛡️ Safe for rice, highly selective Safe for rice; rice seedlings have a high level of tolerance to the product; safe for subsequent crops
💧 Widely applicable, with a variety of methods Suitable for transplanted rice fields, hand-transplanted rice fields, machine-transplanted rice fields, and direct-seeded rice fields (including formulations with safety agents)
🌾 Classic formula, consistent results The benzoyl-butyl combination is a classic weed control formulation for rice paddies, and its effectiveness has been proven over many years.

🎯 Preventing Objects

Primary prevention and eradication: Barnyard grass, water chickweed, water rush, broken-grain sedge, heteromorphic sedge, water hyssop, water amaranth, jointed waterweed, field mustard, duck’s-bill, Alisma, spikerush, rainflower, and other annual grass weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedge weeds.

Less effective against the following weeds: Dwarf arrowhead, water sedge, Japanese sedge, three-cornered sedge, flat-stemmed sedge (inhibitory effect only).
Suitable crops: Rice transplanting fields, hand-sown fields, machine-transplanted fields, and direct-seeded fields (must include a safety agent formulation).

IV. Usage and dosage

📋 Rice field use program

forms

Crop type Application period Dosage (formulated dose/acre) Water Body Management Mode of application
Rice transplanting field 5–7 days after transplanting (once the seedlings have taken root) 100–140 grams per mu Maintain a water level of 3–5 cm for 5–7 days Mix with urea or fine soil and broadcast
Rice Fields with Transplanted Seedlings 5–7 days after transplanting (once the seedlings have taken root) 100–140 grams per mu Maintain a water level of 3–5 cm for 5–7 days Mix with urea or fine soil and broadcast
Machine-Transplanted Rice Fields 5–7 days after transplanting (once the seedlings have taken root) 100–140 grams per mu Maintain a water level of 3–5 cm for 5–7 days Mix with urea or fine soil and broadcast
Direct-seeded rice fields (including safety agents) 2–4 days after sowing (after the plants have taken root, but before barnyard grass develops 1.5 leaves) According to the recommended amount in the formulation, including the safety factor Maintain a water level of 3–5 cm for 5–7 days Mix with fine soil and broadcast
Active ingredient dosage: The active ingredient dosage per mu for 30% (benzyl·butyl) is 30–42 grams per mu. When applying the pesticide, there must be a 3–5 cm layer of water in the field to ensure even distribution of the pesticide.

V. Guidance for use

🔧 Application Points

forms

move operational specification
1. Seize the opportunity In transplanted fields, apply the herbicide after the seedlings have established themselves (5–7 days); in direct-seeded fields, apply the herbicide 2–4 days after sowing and before barnyard grass reaches the 1.5-leaf stage.
2. Field Preparation Level the field and maintain a shallow water layer of 3–5 cm.
3. Aquifer Management Maintain a water depth of 3–5 cm during application, and keep the water in the field for 5–7 days after application, allowing it to dry out naturally. Do not drain or transfer water during this period.
4. Preparation of Medicinal Soil Mix the formulation with 15–20 kilograms of urea or fine soil per mu, and apply it evenly after the dew has dried.
5. Apply the pesticide evenly Ensure that the pesticide is evenly distributed over the field to avoid over-spraying or missed spots.

⚠️ Key Considerations

  1. ⏰ Optimal application period: Transplanted rice seedlings in the fieldAfter the plants have taken root (5–7 days)Pesticide application; direct-seeding fields in2–4 days after sowing, before barnyard grass reaches the 1.5-leaf stageApply herbicide. If herbicide is applied after the two-leaf stage of barnyard grass, its effectiveness will decrease.

  2. 💧 Water Management: When applying the pesticide, the following must be present in the field:Water depth: 3–5 cm, Moisture Retention After Treatment5-7 days, air-dry naturally, during which timeNo water leakage, no cross-contamination, to avoid reducing the drug's effectiveness.

  3. 🚫 Prohibited plots: Use with caution in fields with waterlogging, weak seedlings, or diseased seedlings.; For fields where seedlings are transplanted with soil, conduct trials before widespread adoption; early application in direct-seeding fields can cause phytotoxicity, so formulations containing a safety agent must be used.

  4. 🌡️ Temperature effects: If the temperature in early-season rice seedling fields falls below 15°C, pesticide application should be postponed; otherwise, it may cause the seedlings to remain stunted.

  5. 🐟 Aquatic safety: This product is toxic to fish and must not be used in rice paddies where fish are raised; after application, do not discharge paddy water directly into rivers, ponds, lakes, or other bodies of water.

  6. 🧪 Mixing Taboo: Do not mix with alkaline substances such as pesticides.
  7. 🔄 Number of uses: Maximum use per growing season1 time
  8. 🛡️ security: Wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask when applying the pesticide; wash your hands and face immediately after application; pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid contact.
  9. 🧹 Instrument cleaning: Rinse the sprayer thoroughly after use to prevent residual pesticide from causing phytotoxicity to other crops.

  10. 📦 Storage conditions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures; keep away from sources of fire and out of the reach of children.
